About

Panagiotis Anagnostou is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Thessaly in the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics. His current research focuses on developing advanced machine learning algorithms for big data applications, supervised by Dr. Tasoulis Sotiris.

He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Thessaly in 2023, where his dissertation explored the Design and Implementation of Machine Learning Algorithms in Big Biomedical Data. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor's with an Integrated Master in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras, where his thesis centered on Knowledge Mining and Visualization of Molecular Biology Networks.

Dr. Anagnostou has contributed to several impactful research projects, including the development of personalized AI-driven rehabilitation strategies as part of the European Union-funded PREPARE project, and the design of machine learning models for vessel transportation predictions during his tenure at Signal Ocean SMPC. He has also been actively involved in improving ICT research infrastructures for big data processing at the University of Thessaly.

His work has been featured in numerous publications, such as Boosting Neural Network Performance for scRNA-seq Data (BioData Mining, 2024) and Enhancing Human Health Prediction (Applied AI, 2021). He is also a co-author of the Hierarchical Clustering-Ensemble Regressor methodology published in Springer in 2024.
